A Study to Develop a Vestibular and Balance Function Measure (VBFM) Tool

About this study

The purpose of this study is develop a tool called the Vestibular and Balance Function Measure (VBFM) to evaluate vertigo, dizziness, or balance problems that affect patients; ability to perform tasks and participate in activities.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults 18 years or older with complaints of dizziness/vertigo/unsteadiness who are being seen in the Department of Vestibular/Balance.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects who are unable to read the questionnaires (i.e. either due to illiteracy or visual impairment) will be excluded.
  • Non-English speaking participants.
