A Study to Analyze Patients' Driving Experiences Following Total Joint Arthroplasty

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine when patients have returned to driving a car following total joint arthroplasty and whether or not they were involved in a car accident after their return to driving.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Primary total knee arthroplasty and primary total hip arthroplasty performed at Mayo Clinic Rochester from January 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients younger than 18 years at time of surgery.
