A Study to Evaluate Nutritional Status in Patients Presenting for Plastic Surgery

About this study

The purpose of this study is to identify the prevalence of malnutrition and patients most at risk for nutritional deficiency within those presenting for plastic surgery and how it may affect their clinical outcomes.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults 18 years of age and older.
  • Presenting for plastic surgery with Dr. Forte, Dr. Manrique, or Dr. Rebecca to undergo a subsequent surgical procedure at a Mayo Clinic site within the one month time frame of data collection.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Children under 18 years of age.
  • Patients who do not undergo a surgical procedure.
