A Study to Evaluate a Fast Knee MRI Protocol vs. a Traditional Knee MRI Protocol

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare the fast and conventional MRI exams in the same patient who will subsequently undergo knee arthroscopy; arthroscopy represents the “gold standard” information.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Male and female patients; AND
  • Aged 18 to 49 years, inclusive; AND
  • Patients from Dr. Anikar Chhabra’s clinic; AND
  • Patients requiring knee MRI to interrogate internal derangement of the knee; AND
  • Expectation by Dr. Chhabra (before MRI) that the patient will require knee arthroscopy; AND
  • No patient history of knee surgery and/or prosthesis.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients that do not satisfy all five criteria will be excluded. No patients from vulnerable populations will be recruited; e.g., prisoners or pregnant patients.
