A Study to Map White Matter Cognitive Functions Using Stereo EEG

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine the functional contributions of cerebral white matter (WM) tracts using stereo EEG electrical Stimulation mapping, to examine cognitive outcome in relation to the extent of mapped WM tract involvement in the surgical resection.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adult patients, age 18 or older.
  • Undergoing stereo EEG for localization of epilepsy will be recruited.
  • English speaking.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Patients under the age of 18.
  • Non-English speaking.
  • Low cognitive functioning that makes them unable to participate in standard of care cognitive testing.
