A Study of Adults 65 Years or Older to Establish Normal Lymphocyte Subsets and Immunoglobulin Levels

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate baseline lymphocyte subsets and immunoglobulin levels in adults ≥ 65 years without clinical suspicion of immunodeficiency and identify difference in baseline levels compared to currently reported reference ranges for adults (categorized as everyone ≥ 18 years).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Males and females 65 years of age or older at time of informed consent.
Seen in Allergy & Immunology Clinic at Mayo Clinic Florida within the last year (from 04/01/2021) and going forward during the time of the study.

Exclusion Criteria:

Patients younger than 65 years.
Patients unable to provide consent.
Known immunodeficiency.
Current or previous cancer (not to include skin cancer).
Current or previous treatment with biologics, monoclonal antibodies, or other immunosuppressive treatment (due to possibility of secondary immunodeficiency).
Treatment with systemic corticosteroids within the preceding 3 months.
