About this study

The purpose of this study is to search for reproducible changes in a wide range of physiological signals, including photoplethysmography, accelerometry, heart rate, muscle tone and activity and EEG preceding and at the onset of seizures in patients with epilepsy.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

- Patients with epilepsy- scalp EEG or invasive EEG monitoring for clinical care, or an implanted device capable of monitoring brain activity and identifying seizures (e.g.,
NeuroPace RNS, Medtronic PC+S, Medtronic RC+S).
- Pediatric subjects 7 years of age or older.

Exclusion Criteria:

- Cognitive or psychiatric condition rendering patient unable to cooperate with data collection, or manage and recharge smart watch and tablet computer devices.
- Presence of open or healing wounds near monitoring sites (infection risk).
