Physiologic Response to Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Through Usual Care Therapy

About this study

The purpose of this study will be to investigate for differences in physiologic response to usual care therapy between patients with stroke admitted with differing levels of functional mobility.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Primary diagnosis of stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic) within the last 3 months.
  • Participant, family member or legally appointed representative (LOR) will provide informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • History of pacemaker.
  • Concurrent neurologic disorder (Parkinson’s, MS, etc).
  • Concurrent orthopedic fracture or injury to the lower extremity.
  • Stroke following Heart transplant or LVAD placement.
  • Participant has allergy to wrist or chest bands of the monitors.
