Symptoms, Sleep Characteristics, and Disability in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients

About this study

The purpose of this study is to obtain foundational feasibility data to begin to understand relationships between sleep characteristics, symptoms, and disability after solid organ transplantation.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults (age ≥ 18) who have received a heart, kidney, or liver transplant at least 6 months prior to the start of the study will be included.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Persons who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Work nights or rotating shifts.
  • Traveled two or more time zones in the week prior to enrollment.
  • Do not read or write in English.
  • Do not have internet access to complete the surveys. 
  • Are blind or that have a documented medical history of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder will be excluded.
  • Person with neurological conditions affecting the non-dominant hand (e.g., Parkinson’s disease), will also be excluded due to the use of wrist actigraphy monitoring.
