About this study

The purpose of this study is to take an objective activity data measurement by an accelerometer at the end of the intervention period compared to baseline.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Kidney transplant candidates with obesity.
  • Accepted for sleeve gastrectomy (SG).
  • Accepted for kidney transplantation if criteria are met after SG.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Not undergoing sleeve gastrectomy.
  • Unable to connect through telehealth technology.
  • History of medical non-adherence that can affect adherence to the protocol.
  • Any other medical condition that in the opinion of the Principal Investigators warrants exclusion for safety reasons.
