Automated 3-D Model Creation for Glenoid Bone Stock Evaluation on CT Shoulder Exams

Overview

About this study

We hypothesize that an AI algorithm can automate the segmentation of the process to provide an initial contour for these structures that after inspection and correction if necessary, can be used to generate the VR renderings which would be:

  1. Less arduous than manual tracing by a 3D lab technologist
  2. Of non-inferior quality compared to manual segmentation

The objective of this protocol is twofold: 1) determine if the AI generated results are less arduous than manual tracing by radiology technologists and 2) determine the non-inferiority of the quality of AI vs standard of care manual segmentation. These aims will be evaluated in a clinical environment to investigate the impact of an AI algorithm on the clinical workflow.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
