Abdominal Aorta Palpation with Point of Care Ultrasound Imaging Measurements in Healthy Individuals

About this study

The objectives of this study are to identify agreement between the transverse measurement of the abdominal aorta using palpation and ultrasound, to compare intra-rater reliability of palpation of the abdominal aorta by physical therapist students, and to compare intra-rater reliability of ultrasound imaging of the abdominal aorta by physical therapist researchers. 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Healthy adults ≥ 18 years of age.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • History of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Individuals that are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
