Telomere Length Comparison of Diminished and Normal Ovarian Reserve

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine if women with diminished ovarian reserve have shortened telomere lengths compared to women with normal ovarian reserve.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Women aged 18-44 undergoing ovarian stimulation for in vitro fertilization or oocyte cryopreservation at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
  •  Able to get a single blood drawn at Mayo Clinic in Rochester prior to beginning any medications.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Women undergoing ovarian stimulation for fertility preservation at Mayo Clinic, Rochester due to cancer or other systemic disease that is known to compromise fertility.
  • Women who will be having all blood work prior to beginning medications at a facility other than Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
