About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess validity and reliability of AI-assisted ultrasound measures for bladder base displacement during pelvic floor muscle contractions of healthy individuals.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Study 1: Healthy, age 18 or over

Study 2: patients of MCHS-SWWI being evaluated by a physical therapist for symptoms of stress, or mixed (stress and urge) urinary incontinence., age 18 or over

Exclusion Criteria: 

Study 1: History of vaginal or cesarean births, any current pregnancies, current low back pain, current vaginal infection, current urinary or fecal incontinence, history of pelvic organ prolapse, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, pelvic fractures, respiratory disorders (excluding exercise-induced asthma), spinal surgery, or PFM training during physical therapy within the last two years

Study 2: Current pregnancy, current low back pain or hip pain, inability to maintain supine hook lying test position comfortably, current vaginal infection, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, pelvic fractures, respiratory disorders (excluding exercise -induced asthma), spinal surgery, pudendal neuralgia, chronic pudendal nerve damage from previous trauma.
