VCRC Longitudinal Study of Central Nervous System Vasculitis (CNSV)

Overview

About this study

This longitudinal study seeks to establish a research cohort to investigate the disease process, treatments, and patient outcomes in CNSV. The protocol will collect linked clinical and radiologic data along with biologic specimens on a cohort of patients with CNSV for use in research projects.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Diagnostic criteria for CNSV.
  • The presence of an acquired and otherwise unexplained neurologic deficit.
  • The presence of either classic angiographic or histopathologic features of angiitis in the CNS.
  • No evidence of systemic vasculitis or any condition that could cause the angiographic or pathologic features.
  • ≥ 18 years of age.

 Exclusion Criteria:

  • Unwilling or unable to sign informed consent.
