Outcomes Measures in Patients Undergoing Pancreatectomy

Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a longitudinal analysis of PROMs and caregivers’ perspective from preoperatively to two years post-operatively focusing on decision regret, shared decision making, fear or recurrence, work productivity, financial difficulties, and quality of life. There is a lack of understanding from both patient’s and their caregiver perspective whether depending on the indicative diagnosis whether resection is in the patient’s best interest to perform such a morbid procedure and also to determine if there are changes in quality-of-life changes, financial difficulties and work productivity, fear of recurrence, and resilience throughout the course of illness in both patient and their caregivers.

We would also like to evaluate surgeon’s regret on performing the surgery, and this will be assessed at first post-operative visit, 3 months and 1 year post op.
