• A Prospective, Randomized Study to Compare Progel Vascular Sealant to Gelfoam Plus as an Adjunct for the Control of Bleeding in Subjects Undergoing Thoracic Aortic Surgery Rochester, Minn.

  This study is being conducted to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Progel Vascular Sealant for use in vascular reconstructions to achieve adjunctive hemostasis by mechanically sealing areas of leakage.

• A prospective, randomized, active (warfarin) controlled, parallel-arm clinical trial to determine if patients with an On-X aortic valve can be maintained safely and effectively on the factor Xa inhibitor apixaban Rochester, Minn.

  The purpose of this study is to determine if participants with an On-X Prosthetic Heart Valve / On-X aortic valve can be maintained safely and effectively on apixaban. Both the On-X aortic valve and apixaban have been approved for use by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but they have not been approved to be used together.  Currently, warfarin is the only approved anticoagulation for patients with mechanical valves.

• Clinical Investigation of the Perceval S Sutureless Heart Valve Rochester, Minn.

  To demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the Perceval S heart valve when used to replace a diseased or dysfunctional aortic valve or aortic valve prosthesis.
