  • Barriers and Facilitators to Shared Decision Making for Those with Limited English Proficiency in the ICU Rochester, Minn.

The purpose of this study is to understand the experience of those who have limited English proficiency when making decisions about end of life care in the ICU. This experience will be examined from the patient, family and care providers’ perspective. There are often occasions where the experience is difficult for patients and families with limited English proficiency even when there is access to an interpreter and this could be improved.
