  • Retrospective review of ocular adnexal disease Rochester, Minn.

Ocular adnexal disease encompasses a wide spectrum of disorders including inflammatory, myogenic, neurogenic, and neoplastic pathology. This group of disorders affects the ocular adnexa (eyelids, orbit, extraocular muscles, and lacrimal gland) in a variety of ways but ultimately contributes to disfigurement and possible loss of vision.
In this retrospective review, we will review medical charts of patients with ocular adnexal disease. We will review patient demographics, clinical findings, laboratory findings, imaging studies, surgical records, and pathology findings. We will review these charts in attempts to elucidate clinical, laboratory, imaging, and histologic patterns in ocular adnexal disease. We will also review these medical charts to determine surgical outcomes for this spectrum of disease. Additionally, in select disease states, we may perform additional molecular-based testing on previously stored specimens to identify genomic alterations or markers of disease. Finally, a small subset of patients may be requested to submit a one-time blood draw.
