The purpose of this study to determine feasibility, acceptability, and assess preliminary effects of a virtual group MCP-C on 30 of caregivers of patients with advanced cancer.  Meaning-Centered Group Psychotherapy for Cancer Caregivers MCP-C is a 8-session individual intervention that utilizes didactics, discussion, and experiential exercises that focus on themes related to meaning and caregiving. 

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect and cost of technology-enhanced transitional palliative care on family caregivers who provide care to a loved one at home after a hospitalization.

The objectives of this study are to determine feasibility of adherence to a dyad-based PA intervention (# of sessions attended and Halo wear adherence) for HCT recipients and caregivers (15 dyads) using a single-group pre-post design, to determine acceptability of the intervention (dimensions of treatment satisfaction), and to describe patterns of change in PA and communal coping from baseline to follow-up, and in tone across intervention sessions. 

The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility of providing a mindfulness based stress management intervention, the Resilient Living Program,to stroke survivors and their family caregivers. The Resilient Living Program consists of an introduction and 4 online modules, each completed  2 weeks apart. Stroke survivors and their caregivers will practice the strategies taught in the modules using a journal to record. Questionnaires to gauge the impact of the intervention will be completed at baseline, 5, 9, and 12 weeks.

Patients who are prepared and are more aware of what to expect during their hospitalization will experience less acute confusion and rate the confusion they do experience as less distressful.

This study aims to:

1. Determine the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of the iPREPARED intervention for use by older hospitalized adults 60 years of age or older and their caregivers.
2. To estimate the effect size needed to reduce the incidence of delirium in participants using the iPREPARED intervention.
3. Identify patient-caregiver reported strategies to improve the usability of the iPREPARED intervention.

This study examines Stress Management and Resilience Training (SMART) for family caregivers (FCG) of patients receiving chemotherapy for advanced cancer to potentially help with the stressful aspects of providing care. All participants will receive the SMART intervention.

This study will use video technology in conjunction with in-person participation. This is a pilot project, where all enrolled participants will receive the multidisciplinary intervention. Participants (patients and caregivers) from Mayo Clinic Rochester will attend an in-person group session, and participants (patients and caregivers) from Mayo Clinic Florida or Northfield Mayo Clinic Radiation Oncology Center will participate through the use of video conferencing. The goals are to examine feasibility (percent of eligible patients and caregivers who enroll), attrition, and adherence (attend at least four of the six sessions), to determine any differences between the two formats, and to examine potential QOL differences as a result of the intervention.

Piloting the BeWell360-CG model, in conjunction with usual care delivery for lung cancer patients in Palliative Care, will longitudinally improve the wellbeing and quality of life of care givers within and outside of clinical care settings, in such a way as to positively impact the quality of care of patients themselves. We hypothesize that PC staff trained in the BeWell360-CG will be able to identify the most common CG-centric needs and guide CGs to improve their QoL and personal wellbeing. In doing so, we further hypothesize that there will be an improvement in patient-reported and quality of care outcomes.

The objective of this proposal is to pilot a novel, scalable, user-friendly HWC care model– the BeWell360-CG— that is embedded and integrated as part of a palliative approach to care for CGs of patients with advanced lung cancer.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a health coaching intervention on the stress and burden of caregivers of patients awaiting heart or lung transplant.

Hypotheses:  Caregivers will have traits and behaviors pre-transplant that will predict caregiver readiness, quality of life, and transplant recipient outcomes. Specifically, thoracic pre-transplant caregivers report stress, symptoms of anxiety or depression, and perceive high caregiver burden. These factors may be amenable to pre-transplant intervention to improve overall patient and caregiver outcomes.

Aims, purpose, or objectives:  We will conduct a pilot trial to test whether caregivers of heart and lung transplant candidates who receive wellness coaching will experience improvement in caregiver-related distress. We will also explore the relationship between caregiving and factors such as uncertainty, resilience, stress level, and affect.

The primary purpose of this study is to determine feasibility as measured by consent of at least 25% of eligible patients and their caregivers (defined as those who met with the study coordinator), adherence (75% of the enrolled participants will complete at least 3 of the 4 Resilient Living sessions), and acceptability (measured by ) of the delivery of the Resilient Living intervention to patients with advanced cancer and their caregivers.
