Fabrication

Devices and equipment for use in research can be designed and fabricated by the Biomechanics Core. The fabrication laboratory is well-equipped, and laboratory staff can coordinate builds with other service partners to enhance designs (rapid prototyping, safety checks).

Examples of fabricated items include:

  • Custom surgical tools.
  • Custom mechanical testing equipment.
  • Implant prototypes.
  • Molds for parts and tissue scaffolds.
  • Robotic joint simulators.
  • Sensors and instrumentation.
  • Test frames, jigs and forms.
