Next-generation sequencing
Next-generation sequencing is the process of sequencing DNA or RNA by producing millions to billions of sequencing reads in a massively parallel manner. Also known as deep sequencing, next-generation sequencing allows for the sequencing of the entire genome, exome, or transcriptome. This makes it possible to identify complex genetic differences that may cause disease or help diagnose and treat disease. The Genome Analysis Core offers a full range of services and applications for next-generation sequencing, including:
- Whole-genome sequencing (short and long read).
- Whole-genome methylation.
- RNA sequencing.
- Targeted sequencing (QIAseq).
- Small RNA (microRNA).
- 10x Genomics single cell RNA sequencing.
- Kinnex full-length and single cell RNA long-read.
- Olink.
Due to the complexity of next-generation sequencing, the Genome Analysis Core recommends a consultation to properly plan a new research project.
