Overview
Mayo Clinic nurse scientists engage in clinical research to improve the health of patients and their caregivers across the life span. In collaboration with Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists from a variety of disciplines as well as with researchers external to Mayo Clinic, nurse scientists generate knowledge across the continuum of care. Mayo Clinic nurse scientists secure intramural and extramural funding to support their research. They actively disseminate their findings through publications and presentations.
Mission
Nurse scientists advance Mayo Clinic's mission of inspiring hope and promoting health through integrated clinical practice, education and research. To fulfill this mission, Mayo's nurse researchers address unmet patient needs and improve the quality of the patient experience.
Mayo Clinic nursing researchers transform nursing practice by advancing innovation to meet the needs of patients, family members and caregivers across the life span and across care settings to deliver optimal healthcare.
