Elizabeth A. Bradley, M.D., studies the impact that problems of the eyelid, eye socket and tear drainage system have on people's quality of life. As a founding member of Mayo Clinic's Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) Clinic, she serves as a co-investigator for clinical trials of several medicines to treat thyroid eye disease. Dr. Bradley is a founding member of Mayo Clinic's facial reanimation program and is actively engaged in studies that investigate the epidemiology, clinical features, treatment and outcomes of facial nerve disorders. Dr. Bradley also studies eye-related problems in people undergoing complex reconstructive surgery, including face transplantation.
Dr. Bradley's research is aimed at increasing understanding of the burden that conditions such as thyroid eye disease, facial nerve palsy and severe facial trauma have on people's well-being. She also is interested in studying new medical treatments for thyroid eye disease and other eye-related conditions in a scientifically thorough way.
