The research interests of Daniel S. Elliott, M.D., are primarily in the treatment of male urinary incontinence, the use of the artificial urinary sphincter, female urology, prolapse and vaginal mesh complications. Dr. Elliott's research interests also include studying the treatment of prostate-related urination problems.
Dr. Elliott's research is specifically aimed at aiding patients who have suffered complications from prostate cancer treatment and the treatment of female prolapse and incontinence surgery. Mayo Clinic and Dr. Elliott's research team have the world's largest databank on the artificial urinary sphincter, which allows for better counseling of men on the risk and benefits of surgery to treat their incontinence and supports continually improving the quality of patient care.
