David M. Routman, M.D.'s research aims to personalize radiation oncology treatment across multiple malignancies by translating science and technology into clinical application. He is co-founder of Mayo Clinic's Radiation Oncology Informatics Laboratory with a specialized focus on using advances in data science and technology to improve the quality of care while minimizing toxicity. Dr. Routman focuses on patient-reported outcomes, wearable technologies, novel biomarkers, and radiation therapy advances including proton therapy and automation.
By translating biomarkers and automated and predictive tools into clinical practice, Dr. Routman's goal is to design workflows that provide the highest quality, least intensive and individually most appropriate treatment to each person.
