Meet the Team

Kendall H. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., leads a research team that is advancing neuromodulation knowledge and technology. Learn more the research team members:

  • Yoonbae Oh, Ph.D.
  • Associate Director

Dr. Oh received his Ph.D. in neural engineering from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Hanyang University in South Korea. His work in the Neural Engineering Laboratory of Hanyang University involved developing novel neurochemical recording techniques to measure neurotransmitters in the brain, especially dopamine. He has a strong background of training in electrochemistry and signal processing from his graduate studies. He has published a number of papers on related developments and basic mechanisms in electrochemistry. Currently, he is an associate professor in the Department of Neurologic Surgery.

  • Hojin Shin, Ph.D.
  • Associate Director

Dr. Shin received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Hanyang University in South Korea. His work at the Neural Engineering Laboratory of Hanyang University involved developing novel neurochemical recording techniques to measure neurotransmitters in the brain, especially serotonin. He has published several papers related to these developments and basic mechanisms in electrochemistry. Currently, Dr. Shin is an associate professor in the Department of Neurologic Surgery and an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering.

  • Abhinav Goyal
  • M.D.-Ph.D. Student

Abhinav Goyal is a fourth-year M.D.-Ph.D. student in the Neural Engineering and Precision Surgery Lab. He hopes to use his interest in artificial intelligence and computational neuroscience to better understand the electrochemical and electrophysiological dynamics of memory formation in the hippocampus.
