Dermatology
Dermatologists are experts in diagnosing and treating melanoma. At Mayo Clinic, the Department of Dermatology provides top-line clinical care to patients with all stages of melanoma and other types of skin cancer.
While working collaboratively with other members of the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Research Program, dermatologists offer a full range of services. These include comprehensive skin cancer surveillance, diagnostics, dermatopathology (including frozen tissue analysis within the Frozen Section Pathology Lab), surgical dermatology, alternative therapies for metastatic melanoma to the skin, and management of epidermal side effects from systemic melanoma and skin cancer therapies.
