Leadership
Program on Physician Well-Being Director Colin P. West, M.D., Ph.D., and the Committee for Employee Well-Being (CEWB) use a cross-functional approach and evidence-informed strategies to promote physician well-being and prevent physician burnout. The CEWB provides a deliberate, intentional way of engaging, supporting and preparing Mayo Clinic to execute and uphold the Employee Well-Being strategic plan and ultimately Mayo Clinic's mission.
The committee structure and function comprises a blend of enterprise-level guidance and decentralized site- and shield-specific responsibilities. This facilitates consistent alignment with the Employee Well-Being strategy endorsed by the People and Culture Committee.
The CEWB will enable Mayo Clinic to adopt and implement the new framework for well-being by partnering with leadership at the enterprise and local levels to:
- Be proactive, not reactive.
- Embed well-being in decision-making.
- Make well-being a foundational priority.
- Align cultural norms.
