Reliability of a Modified King Devick Balance Test in Hockey Players While Wearing Skates (KD)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the reliability of a modified King-Devick (K-D) Balance Test in hockey players. The KD test is typically performed in stocking feet. The modified test under study will be conducted while hockey players are wearing hockey skates in order to evaluate if this modified test might contribute to a quick concussion screen at a hockey rink.

The aim of this study will be to estimate and compare intra-rater reliability and minimal detectable change (MDC) of maximum ankle dorsiflexion (ADF) in persons with lower extremity injury using a weight-bearing lunge test (WBLT) and three clinical measurement tools: (1) standard goniometer; (2) bubble inclinometer; and (3) digital goniometer.
