  • Exploring attitudes toward return of genetic research results to family among diverse populations Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

    The overall objective of this research is to understand the attitudes, expectations, and preferences regarding return of genetic research results among individuals of diverse racial, ethnic, and sociodemographic backgrounds.  Specifically, we aim to: Describe perceptions of cancer research, cancer risk, and the nature of cancer genetic research information among diverse individuals (by self-identified race and ethnicity), including similarities and differences between racial and ethnic groups. The study also aims to describe similarities and differences among diverse individuals (by self-identified race and ethnicity) regarding concepts of family ownership, view about privacy, and control of genetic information (including individual research participant data ownership).
