The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of parent coached exposure therapy (PCET) through baseline comparisons, to compare effectiveness of individual PCET and individual standard cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to compare efficiency of individual PCET and individual standard CBT, to compare effectiveness of group intensive PCET, individual PCET, and individual standard CBT, and acceptability.

Development of a Smart Assessment System for Childhood Psychiatric Disorders (Stage 3): Collection of Clinical Data

The patient will be presented with a brief screener that uses a decision-making model to programmatically present additional modules and questions based on item endorsement. As such, psychiatric assessment can be standardized while simultaneously individualized to the patient. The assessment system under development has the potential to improve diagnostic accuracy, triage patients to the most appropriate initial appointments, provide data for quality improvement, initiate ehealth care, and provide the infrastructure to develop a state-of-the-art psychiatric research center.

Expanding Access to Therapy for Childhood Anxiety Disorders Via Smart Phones - PILOT

Low-Cost, Virtual Reality System to Increase Access to Exposure Therapy for Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with fear provoking exposures is the most effective therapy for anxiety disorders. Investigators aim to enhance this therapy with the use of virtual reality exposures and to make therapy more available and accessible for patients with anxiety disorders. The societal benefit of increased access to therapy is that, if successful, it will increase the number of patients who receive appropriate treatment for an anxiety disorder.
