Rose Geranium in Sesame Oil Nasal Spray for the Improvement of Nasal Vestibulitis Symptoms in Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy

Study phase:

During the early phases (phases 1 and 2), researchers assess safety, side effects, optimal dosages and risks/benefits. In the later phase (phase 3), researchers study whether the treatment works better than the current standard therapy. They also compare the safety of the new treatment with that of current treatments. Phase 3 trials include large numbers of people to make sure that the result is valid. There are also less common very early (phase 0) and later (phase 4) phases. Phase 0 trials are small trials that help researchers decide if a new agent should be tested in a phase 1 trial. Phase 4 trials look at long-term safety and effectiveness, after a new treatment has been approved and is on the market.

About this study

This trial will be an evaluation of rose geranium in sesame oil nasal spray versus nasal saline. Rose geranium in sesame oil nasal spray is a compounded preparation, containing 0.2 mL (4 drops) of pharmaceutical grade rose geranium oil to 119.8 mL of pharmaceutical grade sesame oil and then put into 30mL bottles. This is the same compound that was used in the aforementioned study of patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (2). Isotonic nasal saline will contain 0.9% sodium chloride with benzalkonium chloride, as a preservative, in a 30 mL bottle.

Treatment duration

The therapy will be given for two weeks. This should give us adequate time to determine whether rose geranium in sesame oil nasal spray can decrease nasal vestibulitis. Following that two week period, participants taking the saline spray will be allowed to cross over to the other spray. Subjects may cross over within two weeks after completion of treatment and be on therapy for an additional two weeks such a patient must still be receiving chemotherapy or within 2 weeks of the last chemotherapy dose, at the time of crossover.

About this study

This is a multicenter, open-label, Phase 1 study in participants with colorectal cancer (CRC) or gastric cancer to study the safety and tolerability of SC-007 and consists of Part A (dose regimen finding) in participants with CRC followed by Part A in participants with gastric cancer. Part B (dose expansion) will enroll participants into separate disease specific cohorts of CRC or gastric cancer.

About this study

This phase 1 first-in-human study evaluates safety and tolerability of SBP-101 in subjects with previously treated pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and will identify the maximum tolerated dose (MTD). In addition, this study will also assess the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile and preliminary efficacy of SBP-101.

About this study

The purpose of this study for the Inavo + Cetux Arm (A): To evaluate the effectiveness of Inavo + Cetux in PIK3CA-mutated colorectal cancer (CRC) with no detected RAS (KRAS, NRAS) or BRAFV600E mutations.

The purpose of this study for the Inavo + Bev Arm (B_: To evaluate the effectiveness Inavo + Bev in PIK3CA-mutated, RAS (KRAS, NRAS)-mutated CRC.

The purpose of this study for the Atezo+SY-5069 Arm (C): To evaluate the effectiveness of atezolizumab and SY-5609 treatment combination on patients with mCRC.

The purpose of this study for the GDC-6036+cetuzimab+FOLFOX Arm (E): To evaluate the effectivenss of GDC-6036 plus cetuximab plus FOLFOX on patients with mCRC.

The purpose of this study for the GDC-6036 plus cetuximab Arm (F): To evaluate the effectivenss of GDC-6036 plus cetuximab on patients with mCRC.

The purpose of this study for the atezolizumab plus tiragolumab or atezolizumab plus tiragolumab and bevacizumab Arm (MSI-H): To evaluate the effectivenss of atezolizumab plus tiragolumab or atezolizumab plus tiragolumab and bevacizumab.

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of adding durvalumab to chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone before surgery in treating patients with upper urinary tract cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, cisplatin, and gemcitabine work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Durvalumab in combination with chemotherapy before surgery may enhance the shrinking of the tumor compared to chemotherapy alone.
