Nailfold Blood Vessel Imaging for Disorders of Vessel Inflammation
Jacksonville, FL
The overall goal of this research study is to examine the use of Nailfold Videocapillaroscopy (NVC) for prognostication of patients with Small Vessel Vasculitis (SVV).
Nailfold videocapillaroscopy (NVC) is a simple and noninvasive tool utilized by rheumatologists for monitoring of systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, and Raynaud’s phenomenon{Jung, 2013 #5}. A capillaroscope is utilized to view the nailfold capillaries and evaluate for evidence of small vessel abnormalities, which can be seen with the aforementioned disorders.
