We provide numerous services to help investigators conduct high-quality research in anesthesiology, critical care and pain management.
Overview
The Anesthesia Clinical Research Unit (ACRU) is composed of a dedicated team of clinical research professionals within the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic.
Our overall mission is to provide support to Mayo Clinic faculty members and external industry sponsors for research within the fields of anesthesiology, critical care and pain management.
Areas of assistance provided by the ACRU include:
- Data collection
- Clinical trial design and implementation
- Statistical analysis
- Analytical methodology
- Code and coverage analysis and budget development
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission
- Database development
Our team is experienced in many areas of anesthesiology in which assistance is needed for research and quality improvement. These areas include operating rooms, postanesthesia care units, intensive care units, pain management clinics, the perioperative exam clinic and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCaTS). Our work is made possible by the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program of the National Institutes of Health, along with benefactors and industry sponsors.
Leadership
The Anesthesia Clinical Research Unit is directed by Daryl J. Kor, M.D.; Aimee L. Tillman, M.B.A., PMP; Brenda K. Anderson, R.N.; and Nicole M. Andrijasevic. Multidisciplinary support personnel include study coordinators, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and administrative support staff.
