The Anesthesia Clinical Research Unit assists in several types of ongoing studies:

• Perioperative and pulmonary critical care outcome studies.
• Investigator-initiated and industry-supported clinical trials, including studies on mechanical ventilation, pain therapy, novel medications, and health care products and equipment.
• Special population studies, such as older adults and pediatrics.
• Electronic database and registry investigations.
