The research interests of Joseph F. Drazkowski, M.D., consider social determinants of health and quality of life issues for patients with epilepsy. Any research focused on improving quality of life is emphasized, including surgical approaches and treatments. Driving with seizures is a major area of interest as the ability to drive has a significant impact not only on the person with epilepsy, but also on the caregivers and family. The utilization of a surgical technologist and devices is another area of interest for Dr. Drazkowski.
The effective seizure-control management has a direct impact on quality of life for people with epilepsy. New techniques to improve quality of life in relation to patient safety and driving issues, as well as complementary and alternative treatments are current interests.
