The main research aim for Craig N. Sawchuk, Ph.D., L.P., is to improve the treatment of anxiety and depression in primary care. Dr. Sawchuk and his colleagues are developing and evaluating mental health care delivery models that can help manage the growing need for effective behavioral and pharmacologic treatments in the primary care setting.
The goal of this research program is to improve patient access to effective treatments for mental health conditions in the primary care setting. Making these services available can significantly improve communication with patients and their primary care team and positively impact disease management. Enhancing patient choice for evidence-based treatments can further improve treatment engagement and outcomes.
