Internal funding

Community Health Assessment and Improvement Program (CHAMP) Awards

CHAMP Research Awards support research projects that include partnership with community partners to address health priorities. The CHAMP Partnership Development Award supports one-year projects in which community partners or research teams work in tandem with the CCaTS Community-Engaged Research Program to help with partnership identification, development and project planning.

External Funding

• Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC). Several funding opportunities related to health care are administered by the Minnesota Department of Health's ORHPC. Additional funding opportunities related to health care are available at the federal level as well.

• Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub). Funded by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, RHIhub serves as a guide to improving health for rural residents.

• Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). Visit the HRSA funding page to learn more about how HRSA fulfills its mission through grants and cooperative agreements.

• Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). This collaborative research network of institutions funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

• Rural Health Research Gateway. Learn about support available to rural health researchers.

• Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Funding priorities for PCORI are focused on research that compares benefits and harms of treatments interventions. Studies are designed to assist patients and other stakeholders in making informed decisions.
