Extended and Mobile Clinical Research and Trials Unit (CRTU)

Extended Clinical Research and Trials Unit (CRTU)

The Extended CRTU has the ability to dispatch specially trained staff to the bedside of acutely ill patients throughout Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Specially trained research nurses and support staff conduct protocols, secure specimens, administer medications and gather critical data at the bedside of hospitalized patients, ensuring that hospital nursing staff can continue to concentrate on their first priority: providing prompt, safe and effective patient care.

The unit provides 24/7 coverage at both the Saint Marys and Methodist campuses of Mayo Clinic Hospital — Rochester.

Mobile Clinical Research and Trials Unit (CRTU)

The Mobile CRTU provides a specially trained staff that helps Mayo Clinic investigators conduct research within the southeastern Minnesota community. Mobile CRTU staff members make it possible for research to be conducted among populations that otherwise may not be able to travel to Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, such as college students or senior citizens.
