Benefactor-Funded Research Early-Career Development Awards
Mayo Clinic's Benefactor-Funded Research Early-Career Development Awards support junior faculty members in their early-career efforts to become independent investigators. This competitive award mechanism is available to individuals at all Mayo Clinic campuses, with restrictions for some awards.
Funding is for 1 to 3 years as noted for each award, with the goal of transitioning the recipient to independent extramural funding. The funding amount noted for each award is the total for each year, including a 30% indirect rate.
Each year, opportunities are available in several specialty areas. These awards are made possible through benefactor gifts. The specific career development awards available for the coming year are determined by the Department of Development in the fall.
