Study of Trial Readiness in Cavernous Angiomas with Symptomatic Hemorrhage (CASH)

The purpose of this study is to set up the infrastructure for future clinical trials for patients with cavernous malformations. To do this we will be assessing the quality of MRI and data collection from patients with cavernous malformations across multiple sites in the country. At Mayo, we will be looking at new MRI "sequences" in addition to the usual sequences to see if that helps determine which cavernous malformations may bleed again.

Improving Anorectal Testing for Defecatory Disorders and Fecal Incontinence

The purpose of this study is to better understand the mechanisms by which people retain control of their bowel contents and evacuate stool (defecation) and why people have constipation or fecal incontinence (involuntary stool leakage). Pressure measurements (by manometry) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are widely used for diagnosis in patients with constipation or fecal incontinence. This study is trying to improve the utility of these tests for diagnosing these problems and to understand if pressure measurements (by manometry) can be related to strength of the anal sphincter measured by MRI. To do this, we will study the effects of alfuzosin on these muscles.

Clinical Evaluation and Deployment of a Clinical PET/MR System with a Data Registry

The purpose of this study is to assess and deploy a new PET/MR platform following the same quality control method as was done at other Mayo Clinic sites, i.e. Rochester and Arizona.
The secondary purpose is to initiate a data registry for the PET/MR studies allowing us to capture some basic information about the indications, findings, and relevant imaging and non-imaging biomarkers for the studies conducted. This will allow us to see trends in utilization as well as create preliminary data to inform future (IRB approved) investigations.

Clinical Evaluation of a Transmit/Receive Head Coil for PET/MR Brain Studies

The purpose of this study is to evaluate an attenuation map for a transmit/receive (T/R) head coil used on the GE SIGNA PET/MR system. An attenuation map of the T/R head coil will be developed and evaluated in phantom experiments followed by the patient studies. The repeatability of generating patient-specific attenuation maps from Zero Echo Time (ZTE) MR images acquired with the T/R head coil will also be assessed.

Identifying Posterior Circulation Candidates for Thrombectomy Using Perfusion Imaging
